Of course, I don't have these 9 cars any longer, but here are the ones I wish I still had:
1972 Volvo 144E
-- A tank of a car, perfect for long trips
1986 Mazda RX7
-- I miss the purr of the rotary engine.
2001 Renault Megane
-- The French actually got this very right. +40 mpg, too.
1982 Suzuki Alto
-- A fun, little Japanese metal box with wheels
Work took me to Japan for 7 years and to France for 2 years, so I have seen a bunch of cars I wish existed on US soil.
My Wish List of Dream Cars:
1972 Citroen SM (some day....some day....)
1972 Citroen DS
1994 Mazda Rx7
1967 Ford T-Bird Sedan
1967 Mercury Cougar
1992 Lancia Delta Evoluzione (or really any Lancia pre-2000)
2008 Alfa Romeo Brera (or any Alfa)
For now though, my daily driver is a 2006 Hyundai Elantra GT hatchback. It was the safest, most economical, most fuel-efficient, most reliable, most practical car I could find when I came back to the US. It reminded me most of my Renault Megane that I missed and the SAAB 9-3 that I drooled over, but am glad now I didn't buy. |
